The aim is to provide the skills required to address and undertake such inspections, record the relevant findings and know what actions are to be taken upon completion.
In order to achieve this objective the training syllabus has both theoretical and practical sessions, which include a written assessment, hands-on equipment examination and logging procedures.
Theoretical sessions include the legislative requirements in place for this course, clarification on European equipment manufacturing standards, identification and product marking, fault reporting and inspection, along with maintenance and replacement schedules.
Practical sessions include the inspection of a variety of types of fall protection equipment, with the emphasis placed upon the identification of equipment that is unfit for use, how to condemn it and the fault reporting systems that needs to be in place.
